GEAR : Lowepro Photo Active 300 AW in Norway by Glenn Fajota

So the bag your looking at is the Lowepro Photo Active 300 AW which is based off the Freeline everyday bag. I carried this bag to Norway with me and it fit all the camera gear I brought along with me on this trip. We did some hiking through backcountry and up mountain and mother nature threw everything at us and the bag held together.

You have your main backpack features, you’ve got mesh pockets which I held my watch and flashlight, it can also hold your phone. The bag has shoulder straps, sternum straps, waist straps and compression straps to keep everything compressed. On the outside of my bag I carried my Manfrotto Befree GT Carbon Tripod, my jackets, the bag cover and hand warmers for my cameras so the battery juice wouldn’t deplete. This bag is water bladder compatible or in the same compartment you can run your 15-inch laptop, I ran the Qore Performance Ice Plate which can hold 1.5 liters of liquid. The bag is setup so that there are two handles that you can grab on to. On the bottom of the bag it has two solid raised cushions for sitting the bag down on things that are not flat.

Inside of the front little pocket I carried chargers, battery packs, SOG Baton Q1, Joshua Tree Skin Care SPF30 Travel Lotion and Strike Force Energy, the pocket is orange so its easy to see your content inside. The main compartment held the Lowepro DroneGuard CS 150 which carried my DJI Mavic Pro too. The main compartment has interior mesh pockets. The insert held my Canon 5d Mark IV with a 24mm f/1.4 lens and the Canon 5d Mark III with a 135mm lens with a 1/4 extension and a 15mm fisheye lens. If I had to pick two focal lengths it would usually be around 135mm to 24mm, I’m a prime shooter I don’t run zooms and if I did run zooms I’d end up using the 24mm and around 135mm length for most of my shots. Check out the links below to get your hands on this bag and gear.

Notre Dame 2019 Fire. Gone but not forgotten by Glenn Fajota

IMG_1442_190416.jpg
IMG_1366a_b.jpg

Working in the travel industry, I get very fortunate to visit places not many see. My task as a photographer is to document these locations so that tourists will want to come visit these destinations.

What’s not given to me as a part of the assignment is how to take the photo. Sometimes I get the copy (the story) ahead of time so I know what the shot list is to mirror the editorial and sometimes I won’t get anything. Here is an email from 2007 :

”Glenn we have an assignment for you, this time in Paris. Notre Dame. Email me when you get back. Safe travels”

The first photo I took inside from an ant’s POV. The second photo, you guessed it, from a bird eye’s POV.

For those wanting to get noticed by agencies and clients in the travel industry, DON’T shoot what’s on the front page of search. If you search “NOTRE DAME,” you’ll see that my images (above) aren’t like the others.

In a tragic time like this, we just want to reminisce of how beautiful Notre Dame was. I’m glad I have images to share with media sources as the rebuild process for the cathedral begins.
